How Much Will A Professional Negligence Claim Cost?
Our aim is always to get you the maximum amount of compensation that you deserve as quickly as possible but our aim will always be to do this without you having to meet a large bill for legal costs. If we win your case your opponent will normally pay your legal costs. There are generally four methods of funding a professional negligence claim:
- No win, no fee - this is always our preferred choice. We will always try and arrange insurance if possible at no cost to you which will protect you from having to pay either our own or the other side's legal costs.
- Legal expense insurance - you will need to look through your home contents/credit card insurance to see whether or not you have legal expense insurance as often your claim can be funded through this, providing you with automatic protection not only for your own costs but from having to pay the costs of the other side.
- Public funding (Legal Aid) - Legal Aid is generally only available in fairly limited circumstances and as a firm we do not offer this as an alternative. If you wish to seek public funding for your claim we would suggest you go to www.legalservices.gov.uk.
- Private paying - this is where you are responsible for own costs and we would generally not advise this method of funding for our clients unless there was absolutely no alternative. We will always give you detailed information regarding costs.
